Belongs to the chirothecata group; general coloration orange, the praescutum and scutum polished black; antennae (male) nearly twice as long as the body, 7-segmented; flagellar segments without spinous armature; halteres black; fore femora chiefly black, remaining femora yellow, the tips narrowly black; wings strongly tinged with brownish yellow, sparsely patterned with brown; R2+3+4 more than twice R 2+3; cell 1st M2 long-rectangular. Male. - Length, about 12 mm.; wing, 11 mm. ; antenna, about 23 mm.
